Your salah doesn’t end with the salam. That’s where the bonus round begins.
Most people pray, say salam, grab their phone, and walk away. They’re leaving free rewards on the table. Mountains of good deeds. Guaranteed entry into Jannah — just by spending 2-3 extra minutes after each prayer.
The Post-Prayer Dhikr Sequence
1. Astaghfirullah (3 times)
You just stood before Allah. And no matter how focused you were, you fell short. Start by asking forgiveness. Humility first.
2. Allahumma Antas-Salam
“Allahumma Antas-Salamu wa minkas-salam. Tabarakta ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram.”
Meaning: “O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honor.”
3. SubhanAllah (33 times)
Glory be to Allah. Count on your fingers. The Prophet ﷺ used his right hand.
4. Alhamdulillah (33 times)
All praise is for Allah. Every breath. Every heartbeat. Every blessing you forgot to count.
5. Allahu Akbar (33 times)
Allah is the Greatest. Greater than your problems. Greater than your fears.
6. The 100th — La ilaha illallah
“La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in Qadir.”
The Prophet ﷺ said whoever says this after each salah — his sins will be forgiven even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. (Muslim)
7. Ayatul Kursi
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi after every obligatory prayer — nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death.” (An-Nasai)
One ayah. After each prayer. That’s the easiest ticket to Paradise you will ever find.
8. Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas
Recite each once after every prayer. After Fajr and Maghrib, recite them 3 times each for extra protection.
The Math of Dhikr
- 33 + 33 + 33 + 1 = 100 dhikr per prayer
- 100 × 5 prayers = 500 dhikr per day
- 500 × 365 = 182,500 dhikr per year
That’s over 180,000 remembrances of Allah every year. And each one is a good deed multiplied by 10 at minimum. That’s 1.8 MILLION good deeds on your scale.
Combine this with your Morning Duas guide and your nightly Surah Al-Mulk recitation, and you’ve built a fortress of worship around your entire day.
